Office Furniture Recycling

Office Furniture Recycling

It’s inevitable that refurbishing or moving offices will generate waste materials. But at Interchange we hate the thought of that going into landfill – it’s wasteful, inefficient and damaging to the environment.

Because of this Interchange have made recycling a core part of our business. We’re not just a Carbon Neutral Company, we’re also licensed waste brokers (Licence Number CB/QM3656DQ) and are ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 certificated.

Office Furniture Clearance

Once your office furniture and equipment reaches the end of it’s useful life we can work with you to explore the options for disposal, whether it be recycling, resale, reuse, or sending to auction.

Where re-use options are not viable we will remove surplus furniture from site via our Bristol warehouse to our recycling centre with the same transport utilisation where possible. We are sensitive to the cost issues of recycling to our clients and we work with various charities and voluntary organisations supplying them with serviceable furniture products at low cost.

Recycled Office Furniture Sales

In addition to selling new office furniture, we also supply good quality second hand office furniture. Our stock of secondhand office furniture is frequently changing, so please get in touch with your requirements and we will be glad to help.

Environmental Policy

Interchange are committed to protecting the environment where we are able to do so. To this end we have implemented systems to recycle wrapping waste from our furniture installations, recycle old furniture from our various projects, and to recycle IT equipment within the European WEEE regulations.

Recycled Materials

We are sensitive to the cost issues of recycling to our clients and we have other options for re-use and donating furniture items that are in good condition.

  • Wrapping waste within our installation activities is sorted and bagged on site, returned via our Bristol warehouse to our recycling centre utilising transport that is already delivering to our premises. This has the added benefit of not generating additional use of precious resources.
  • Where re-use options are not viable, we will remove surplus furniture from site again via our Bristol warehouse to our recycling centre with the same transport utilisation where possible.
  • The furniture is then dismantled and recycled as shown in our waste stream statement.
  • IT waste is returned to our warehouse where it is sorted, logged and sent in to our IT recyclers where 99% of the components are recycled.

All of the above services are provided on an item rate basis, although for larger recycling projects we would estimate specifically for that job.

Whether you need help with office clearance, wish to recycle your unwanted office furniture, or you’re looking for a supplier of second hand office furniture after your business move, we have a range of solutions for you, which are sensitive to the cost issues presented by recycling directives.
